Sponsor a Volunteer

Middle East Fellowship and the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate hope to be able to offer scholarship support to low-income volunteers. Unfortunately we do not have any scholarships available at this time. But we can soon with your help!

Every summer we send 30 to 60 volunteers to Damascus. These volunteers provide staff support for youth summer camps, tutor Syrians in English, help grassroots organizations seek funding from Western donors, create websites, work with the elderly, assist programs for Iraqi refugees and much, much more. Upon returning home, volunteers are encouraged to continue their service through community awareness projects within their own neighborhoods, churches and local networks.

The cost of traveling to Syria (airfare, room and board, arabic classes, volunteer placement assistance, weekend excursions, etc.) can be prohibitive to many potential volunteers.

Middle East Fellowship and the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate hope to be able to offer scholarship support to low-income but highly-skilled volunteers. Unfortunately we do not have any scholarships available at this time. But we can soon with your help!

If you are interested in sponsoring a volunteer for next year's Damascus Summer Encounter please let us know: travel@middleeastfellowship.org

You can also donate online at the Middle East Fellowship website's donation page.
